The "Tristaning"

Aunt Debbie began to refer to the party celebrating Tristan's Christening as the "Tristaning". Whatever you call it, the party was a great reason to gather Tristan's extended family to celebrate his introduction into the Catholic Church. Well over 100 people were there, including real and honorary aunts/uncles, friends, a magician and numerous excited children.

Tristan's Baptism

Tristan was welcomed into the Christian community today as he was baptized by Msgr. Thomas Gilleece at Saint Patrick's Cathedral in NY City.

Even though Tristan was christened at the cavernous cathedral, only a small number of family and friends were able to attend. The ceremony took place in the relatively small "sacresty chapel" under the main altar.

Good friends Patty and "Skull" graciously accepted responsibilty for Tristan's immortal soul. We hope they know what they have gotten themselves into! (Jen and Tom are certain he is in good hands).

Afterwards, the family celebrated Tristan's big day at "Tuscan Square", a wonderful Italian restaurant near the cathedral in Rockefeller Center.

Next week, the rest of Tristan's extended family will gather in Tappan to welcome him into the community.

Tristan is 3 months old!

Happy Third Birthday to Tristan! (Three month's, that is)

Jen is concerned that he is growing up too quickly, but Tom assures her that Tristan will remain her baby for a long time to come.

Anne Marie and Bob's 30th Wedding Anniversary

Jennifer's cousins Kimberly and Bobby threw a wonderful party for the parents to celebrate 30 years of wedded bliss. There was quite a turnout for the wedding-reception-like event.

Many of the guests played "pass the baby" with Tristan. You can see him getting progressively more tired as the evening goes on, but the little trooper remained awake for most of the night.

Father Dwyer's 50th Anniversary

Father John Dwyer, a dear friend of the Payne family (and faithful dinner guest at the Payne house) celebrated the 50th Anniversary of his priesthood with his congregation at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church in Tappan. The event was orchestrated by Tom's mother, Laraine.

Sophie's Birthday in the Park

Tristan's friend Sophie (daughter of Jen and Tom's friends Lisa and Greg) celebrated here second birthday by throwing a party in one of New York's wonderful city parks.

Sophie's mom provided cupcakes from everyone's favorite Magnolgia Bakery. This alone attracted many of the adults to the party...well, that and Sophie's charming smile. Sophie's dad entertained the kids with his giant bubble making machine. Everyone seemed to have a wonderful time.
